Welcome to Endeavor! I am Karen Mardis and it is my honor to serve the students and families of Endeavor as principal. I moved to the Tennessee Valley in 2015 and love everything about my new home. I am the mother of three boys who are grown, and the grandma of three more boys, age 9, 4 and almost 2. I look at every child at Endeavor as my special charge as well. My top priorities as principal are student safety, strong academic programming, and a cascade of opportunities for students to develop leadership and innovation skills.
I began my career in education as a high school teacher of English, social studies, and journalism. I became an assistant principal in 2008 and was blessed to have many opportunities to learn from leaders of schools across the state in the Key Leaders Network. My diverse experience in education helps me appreciate the unique team of teachers Endeavor has and I believe there is not a better collection of professionals anywhere. Our staff works hard each day to ensure that every child is able to grow and thrive.
I invite you to visit us at Endeavor and learn about the learning going on within these walls. We have coffee with the principal twice a month if you would like to chat, but most mornings you can find me at the flag pole before school starts. We always welcome your questions, concerns, and feedback.
